Palestine-Korea Biotechnology Center (PK-Biotech Center)

Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Palestine office started from the beginning of December; the construction of Palestine-Korea Biotechnology Center (PK-Biotech Center) which is a 3 years project with total budget of three (3) Million USD, in cooperation with Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU), and Konkuk University in Korea as the project consultant.

The mission of PK-Biotech Center is to support the Palestinian capacity to harness the full potential of biotechnology in order to improve quality of life, as it will be a nationwide center of excellence in applied biotechnology and training.

Through this project, people can expect better agricultural productivity and decrease in economic losses, in addition to food safety and improvement in public and primary health services.

KOICA is currently supporting 4 ongoing projects in Palestine including the PK-Biotech Project : Jenin Youth Center (’13-’16/USD 3.6M), Palestinian National Rehabilitation Center (’13-’16/USD 5M), and the National School of Administration (’14-’17/USD 7 M), and 1 program;  Palestine Start-up Support(PASS) Program (’15-’18/USD 7 M).
